Spilled Purfume

This tutorial is my own creation and based on my own ideas. Any and all similarities with any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

Please do not upload to or offer this tutorial on any other site without asking me first. Thank you.

Material you will need:

PaintshopPro – I’m using PSP X2, but you should be able to follow the tutorial in any version.

A scrap kit – I used the gorgeous kit Spilled Purfume by Immortal Dreams, which you can purchase here.

A font of your choice.

A tube of your choice.

No filters required.

Now, let’s get started. It might be helpful if you choose the elements you wish to use beforehand, and open them up in PSP prior to starting the tutorial. That way, you have them handy when following each step.

Also, you don’t have to slavishly follow each positioning nor setting – play and experiment a bit, especially if you use different elements.

If you are unsure how to position an element, refer back to my sample tag.

I do assume you have at least some to moderate experience and understanding of PSP.

The DropShadow throughout the tutorial remains the same: V/H -2/-2 O/B 31/6.10.

Resizing throughout the tutorial is done with “Resize all Layers” NOT checked.

Open a new image, 600x600.

Open ID-SP-Frame 10, copy&paste, Resize 50%.

Open ID-SP-Paper 12, copy.

Use your Selection Tool, set to Circle, and start in the center of the frame, draw it until you reach the other rim of the frame, new layer, underneath frame.

On new layer, Paste into Selection, Select none, merge both layers visibly.

Open ID-SP-Frame 9, copy&paste, Resize 45%.

Open ID-SP-Paper 1, copy.

New layer, move underneath second frame.

On second frame layer, click into the center of the frame, Selections – Expand by 2.

On new layer, Paste into selection, Select none, merge both layers, Apply Dropshadow.

Open ID-SP-Frame 6, copy&paste, Resize 47%.

New layer, move underneath third frame layer.

Open ID-SP-Paper 16, copy.

Use your Selection Tool, set to Rectangle, to highlight the he stamp frame.

On new layer, Paste into selection, Select none.

Open ID-SP-Flower 3, copy&paste, Resize 50%, move into the center of the frame, underneath the frame, Apply Dropshadow.

Open ID-SP-Flower 2, copy&paste, Resize 40%, move underneath stamp frame layer, to the bottom right corner, Apply Dropshadow.

Open ID-SP-Purfume 1, copy&paste, Resize 40%, on top of stamp frame layer, move it to the right side, and a bit down.

Use your Selection Tool, set to Rectangle, to erase the bottom part of the bottle, Apply Dropshadow.

Open ID-SP-Angel, copy&paste, Resize 23%, position to the left of the stamp frame, Apply Dropshadow.

Optional: I placed my angel to the left, having parts of it stick out of the frame on the left side, and then used the Selection Tool – Rectangle (after applying the Dropshadow) to erase the left and upper part of the angel.

Open ID-SP-Frame 2, copy&paste, Resize 45%, place on top of the other frames, a bit higher than the stamp frame.

New layer, underneath last frame and click with your Magic Wand inside the oval part of the last frame, Selections – Expand by 2.

Open ID-SP-Paper 15, copy.

On new layer, Paste into Selection, Select none.

Open your tube, copy&paste, Resize and position to liking on top of the last frame.

Option 1: I used the Point-to-Point Selection tool to erase the legs, and then applied a Dropshadow. Afterwards, I merged the oval frame and paper layers, and applied a Dropshadow.

Option 2: move your tube underneath the oval frame, click with your Magic Wand inside the frame, Selections – Expand by 2, Invert, on tube layer, hit “delete” once, Select none, and then merge frame, tube and paper layer, and afterwards apply Dropshadow.

Open ID-SP-Flower 8, copy&paste, Resize 35%, position on the lower edge of the stamp frame, Apply Dropshadow.

Open ID-SP-Bow 2, copy&paste, Resize 45%, move to the top of the stamp frame, Apply Dropshadow.

Optional: use the Point-to-Point Selection Tool to erase parts of the bow to the right.

Open ID-SP-Jewels, copy&paste Resize 45%, Free Rotate – Left – 12 degrees, move underneath bow layer, to the upper left side, Apply Dropshadow.

Open ID-SP-Book, copy&paste, Resize 35%, Mirror, Free Rotate – Left – 25 degrees, position to the left side on top of the bow layer, Apply Dropshadow.

Open ID-SP-Heart, copy&paste, Resize 12%, position on book, a bit to the bottom and right, Apply Dropshadow.

Open ID-SP-Pen, copy&paste, Resize 35%, place on top of the book, towards the top and right corner, Apply Dropshadow.

Optional: Optional: use the Point-to-Point Selection Tool to erase parts of the pen to make it look like it’s underneath the bow.

Open ID-SP-Water, copy&paste, Resize 35%, place to the bottom right.

Open ID-SP-Paper 10, copy.

New layer, Arrange – Send to Bottom, Select all, Paste into Selection, Select none, Resize 55%, Duplicate twice.

On the first copy, Free Rotate – Left – 3 degrees.

On the second copy, Free Rotate – Left 8 degrees.

Open ID-SP-Paper 7, copy.

New layer, Select all, Paste into Selection, Select none, Resize 55%, Duplicate once.

On original of paper 7, Free Rotate – Right – 2 degrees, move in between second and third paper 10.

On duplicate of paper 7, Free Rotate – Left – 15 degrees, move in between original and second paper 10.

Position the papers to liking, Apply Dropshadow to all of them.

Now, the next step is to add any further text, copyright information and your watermark to the graphic.

Feel free to merge all layers visible and then resize to your liking or crop the image.

If you prefer a transparent background, save your tag in PNG format.

Otherwise, if you select the JPG, it will automatically add a white background.

Should you care for a different colored background:

New layer, arrange, send to bottom, and floodfill with your color of choice.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

XOXOXO,

Dani
